Author Bio

Author and Speaker Sumi Mukherjee published his first book titled “A Life Interrupted – the story of my battle with bullying and obsessive compulsive disorder” in July 2011. A new version of his book was published by Mountain Springs House in Jan 2014. His second book, published by Mountain Springs House in July 2014, is titled “Father Figure – my mission to prevent child sexual abuse”. His third book titled “How to stand up to workplace bullying and take on an unjust employer” was published by Marfa House in Jan 2017. Since October of 2011, Sumi has been speaking to hundreds of people around the country so others can benefit from his stories. Sumi has spoken to mental health professionals, caregivers, service providers, students, teachers, counselors, administrators, social workers, parents, and the general audience. He has spoken at schools, colleges, religious organizations, bullying prevention conferences, other professional conferences, domestic violence/sexual abuse/mental health awareness events. He has spoken all around the country including AR, CA, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, ND, NJ, NY, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI, WV. He also speaks in Canada.

- Sumi has spoken on numerous occasions focusing on impact of bullying on mental health as well as on bullying focused on diversity/cultural differences. Reactions have been very positive from students, staff and parents

- Sumi has spoken to students, teachers, parents, counselors, school social workers, school psychologists, other mental health professionals, and the general public on several occasions

- Sumi has spoken at Saperstein Middle School in Los Angeles; at Bethune Mays Classical Academy, Charlotte, NC; at Northwest Prep Academy, Memphis, TN

- Sumi has published an article in the International OC Foundation (OCF) Newsletter in 2012

- Sumi has spoken to parents at a religious/social organization – the Hindu Temple of Minnesota

- Sumi was interviewed by FOX TV in Dec 2011, and by a local cable TV channel in Nov 2014

- Sumi was also interviewed by Radio Disney in Minneapolis, MN, and recently by Rogers Memorial Hospital in connection with impact of bullying on mental health
