Dec 10, 2014

Just received confirmation that I will be speaking at the IAASE (Illinois Alliance of Administrators of Special Education) conference in Chicago in February 2015. I will be speaking at two sessions, one based on my first book (A Life Interrupted – the story of my battle with bullying and obsessive compulsive disorder) and a second one based on my recently published book (Father Figure – My Mission to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse). I am very excited about this conference especially because IAASE is a non-profit special education administrator organization that promotes educational opportunities for all students with an emphasis on students with disabilities. IAASE action oriented administrative focus leads the special education field in the areas of policy development, finance, and legislation at the local, state, and national level (www.iaase.org).

Both of my presentations will be very appropriate for this conference primarily because students with special education needs are at times more vulnerable to different forms of abuse. I have spoken at many conferences where the audience consisted primarily of counselors, social workers, school psychologists, or other staff members – but this will be an opportunity to speak to a group of administrators. I am looking forward to this conference.
