I just spoke at a college preparatory school called Todd Academy, in Indianapolis, IN. This is a small private school primarily for gifted children. My presentation topic was my first book “A Life Interrupted – the story of my battle with bullying and obsessive compulsive disorder”. The school had about 35 students, between grade levels 3 and 12. They all had interesting questions – almost everyone had a question or two. We ended up having a rather long Q/A period.

It was interesting to note that many of these children were subjected to bullying in the public schools they had attended prior to joining Todd Academy. Several teachers commented that the bullying they faced was most likely because these were gifted children and they likely came across as being somewhat “different” in the public school setting. This once again confirms the fact that most bullying victims are typically perceived to be “different” in some ways. The school’s website address is:
